High waist comic book pop art print leggings for women. All-over bold colour design with four-way stretch fabric and moisture-wicking performance. Made for the gym, yoga studio, festivals and anyone who refuses to wear plain leggings.
These leggings are impossible to ignore. The all-over comic book print covers every panel in a collision of speech bubbles, sound effect words, explosion shapes, a cartoon bomb and halftone dot patterns in yellow, red, blue, purple, teal, pink and orange on a bright white base. Whether you are at the gym, a festival, a fancy dress party or just running errands, these will get noticed.
They are built on the same performance fabric as serious activewear. Four-way stretch, moisture-wicking technology and a high-rise waistband that stays in place mean the fun print does not come at the expense of actual wearability. At £14.99 with free UK delivery included, they are one of the most affordable ways to bring something genuinely different into your wardrobe.
About the Print Design
The design is rooted in classic comic book and pop art aesthetics. Pop art as a movement took everyday visual language, particularly print media and comic strips, and elevated it into bold, graphic art. The leggings do the same thing. Every element on the print comes directly from the visual vocabulary of vintage comic books: the sound effects, the speech bubbles, the halftone dot screens, the explosion bursts and the cartoon objects.
Across the front and back, large comic book sound effect words including BOOM, POW, WOW, BAM and BANG are rendered in bold outlined lettering in multiple colours. Each word sits inside or near a speech bubble or explosion burst shape, just as they would on a printed comic page. The bubbles themselves are drawn in purple, blue, yellow and white, with halftone dot patterns filling the backgrounds to mimic the screen printing technique used in offset comic printing from the mid-twentieth century.
Between the text elements, a cartoon dynamite bomb with a lit fuse and a round alarm clock add extra character to the design. The overall composition is dense and energetic, with no white space left unoccupied. From a distance it reads as vibrant and colourful. Up close, the individual elements give it genuine detail and character.
The print covers every panel from waistband to ankle, front and back, with no plain sections. It is printed directly into the fabric rather than applied on top, so the colours hold their vibrancy and do not crack, peel or fade with correct care.
Features
Fabric and Performance
The fabric is an 88% polyester and 12% spandex blend. Polyester provides the durable base that keeps the print looking vivid, dries fast after exercise, and resists pilling and distortion over time. The smooth surface of polyester also gives the print depth and clarity, which is particularly important on a design with this level of colour and detail. Spandex provides the four-way stretch that makes the leggings comfortable to wear for extended periods, whether that is a full gym session or a long day out.
The four-way stretch fabric expands in every direction, not just lengthways. This means there is no tension across the knee, seat or waist during movement. The fabric then returns to its original shape after each wear rather than going baggy or slack, which is particularly important for a white-base print where any fabric distortion would be visible.
The moisture-wicking technology pulls sweat away from the skin immediately, spreads it across the fabric surface and evaporates it quickly. During high-intensity training this keeps the leggings feeling light and dry rather than heavy and wet as a session progresses. For more detail on how the polyester and spandex composition performs in activewear, see our guide on spandex blend performance fabric.
The Waistband
The high-rise elasticated waistband sits wide across the lower abdomen, providing a firm and smooth hold without cutting into the waist or restricting breathing. It stays flat during all activities, including yoga, running, squats and spinning, without rolling down or folding over. The high-rise position gives a clean, flattering silhouette under fitted tops and keeps the leggings securely in place regardless of how much you move.
Because the waistband is made from the same stretch fabric rather than a separate rigid panel, it moves naturally with the body. There is no hard edge or stiff insert. The wide band also creates a subtle smoothing effect across the lower abdomen.
What Are They Good For?
The performance fabric makes these practical for a wide range of activities, and the print makes them stand out in all of them:
Gym and training: The moisture-wicking fabric and four-way stretch perform well across lower body training sessions, cardio and compound movements. The squat-proof construction stays opaque under gym lighting, and the close fit does not shift or ride up during heavier sessions.
Running and spinning: Lightweight, breathable and ankle-length so nothing bunches or restricts stride or pedal movement. The close fit stays in place over longer distances.
Yoga and dance: Full range of movement in every direction. The waistband holds its position through bends, twists and inversions. The print adds a lot of visual energy to a studio class without getting in the way of movement.
Festivals and events: The print is bright enough and detailed enough to function as a complete outfit statement. At an outdoor festival, a live event, a theme party or a fancy dress occasion, these leggings do most of the visual work without needing a complex outfit around them.
Comic Con and cosplay: The comic book aesthetic fits naturally into comic convention and cosplay dressing without requiring a specific character outfit. They work alongside superhero tops, comic-inspired accessories or as a standalone pop art piece.
How to Style Them
The print is bold and colourful, so the rest of the outfit benefits from simplicity. A few combinations that work well:
- Gym or training: Plain white, black or any single-colour sports bra or fitted vest. Keeping the top one solid colour stops it from competing with the print and keeps the overall look clean and athletic.
- Casual street style: White oversized tee, white trainers. The simplest combination and one of the most effective. The leggings carry the outfit on their own.
- Festival look: Cropped coloured top in one of the accent shades from the print such as yellow, red or blue, chunky trainers or boots. Deliberately references the colours in the design.
- Fancy dress or pop art costume: Fitted top with bold block colour, red lip, hair up. A wearable pop art costume that takes no effort to put together and works across a wide age range.
- Dance class or studio: Any fitted crop top. The print brings enough visual interest that anything else can be very simple.
- Casual weekend wear: Denim jacket or bomber jacket in a neutral colour, white trainers. The jacket tones down the volume of the print for daytime wear while keeping the overall look fun and casual.

Size Guide
Measure your natural waist at the narrowest point and your hips at the fullest point before ordering. All measurements are in centimetres. For help finding the right fit, see our guide to choosing comfortable leggings.
| UK Size | Waist (cm) | Hips (cm) | Length (cm) |
|---|---|---|---|
| S (UK 6-8) | 60 to 64 | 74 to 78 | 87 |
| M (UK 8-10) | 65 to 69 | 79 to 83 | 89 |
| L (UK 10-12) | 70 to 74 | 84 to 88 | 90 |
| XL (UK 12-14) | 75 to 79 | 89 to 93 | 92 |
| XXL (UK 14-16) | 80 to 84 | 94 to 98 | 94 |
Allow up to 2cm variation due to manual measuring. If you are between sizes and prefer a tighter compression fit, go with the smaller size. For a little more room around the hips, choose the larger size. The four-way stretch accommodates a range of body shapes comfortably within each size.
Care Instructions
The white base and multiple saturated colours in this print need a little care to stay looking sharp. Proper washing keeps the colours vivid and the fabric performing correctly. See our article on caring for polyester clothing for a full breakdown of how to look after this type of fabric.
- Hand wash in cool water. Machine washing puts too much stress on the print and the spandex fibres over time, particularly on a white-base fabric where any colour bleed becomes visible.
- Turn inside out before washing to protect the print surface from friction during the wash cycle.
- Wash separately from other garments on the first few washes. The deeper colours can transfer slightly until they are fully set.
- Do not use bleach. Even mild bleach will affect the colour balance of the print and damage the stretch properties of the spandex.
- Do not use fabric softener. It breaks down the moisture-wicking performance of the polyester fibres with repeated use.
- Hang to dry at room temperature and away from direct sunlight. UV exposure causes colour fading, particularly in bright, saturated prints like this one.
- Do not tumble dry.
- If pressing is needed, use a cool iron on the reverse side only. Direct heat on the print surface will cause damage to both the colour and the fabric.

They are very cool, but by mistake, I ordered them too big and I will have to return them. However, I will order them in a smaller size. The quality is quite good and I liked the designs. The shipping was fast. I recommend the seller.
