About This Tool
Boys clothing sizes are usually based on age, but height, chest and waist vary a lot between children of the same age. This tool converts age groups into real measurements, so you can check the fit before you buy.
- Covers 2 to 16 years
- Uses height, chest and waist measurements
- Toggle between centimetres and inches
- Tap any age group to get your measurements instantly
How This Tool Works
1
Measure your child’s height, chest and waist (see the guide below).
2
Choose your preferred units using the cm / in toggle at the top of the tool.
3
Select the age group closest to your child to see the typical size range.
4
Compare those measurements to the full size chart below. If your child is between sizes, size up.
How to Measure Your Child
Height
Have your child stand flat against a wall with no shoes on. Mark the top of their head, then measure from the floor to the mark.
Chest
Wrap a soft tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, under the arms and across the shoulder blades. Keep it snug but not tight.
Waist
Measure around the natural waistline, roughly level with the belly button, while your child stands normally rather than holding their stomach in.
Please note: These measurements are intended as a general guide only. Sizing can vary between brands and individual garments. Children grow at different rates, so your child’s measurements may not align exactly with their age group. We always recommend comparing your child’s measurements against the size chart, and if in doubt, size up. For the most accurate fit, check the specific measurements listed on each product page before purchasing.
