Beautifully layered rainbow tulle party dress for baby girls and toddlers aged 3 months to 5 years. 3D fabric rose bodice, five-tier gradient tulle skirt, large satin bow at the back and a hidden zip for easy dressing. Available in Pink Rainbow and Pastel Rainbow Mix. Made for every special moment worth photographing.
Some dresses are just dresses. This one is a moment. The layered tulle skirt fans out in five distinct tiers of graduating pastel colour, each layer full enough to hold its shape when your little girl twirls. The bodice is covered entirely in handcrafted 3D fabric roses, each one individually shaped and layered in soft rainbow tones that give the front a sculptural, textural quality completely different from a printed or embroidered design. The whole thing reads like a wearable piece of confectionery and photographs exactly as well as it looks in person.
This dress exists at the intersection of three things parents are regularly searching for: a first birthday outfit that looks extraordinary in photographs, a flower girl or occasion dress that is soft enough for a baby to wear comfortably for several hours, and a party dress with enough visual impact to carry the whole look without accessories. It manages all three. At £23.99 with free UK delivery, it is considerably better value than comparable dresses from premium children’s boutiques at two to three times the price.
Who This Dress Is For
The target audience for this dress is specific and worth understanding before you buy. This is designed for parents and gift-givers who want a photograph-worthy outfit for a significant occasion in a baby girl or toddler’s life. The occasions it is most regularly purchased for are:
The cake smash and first birthday use cases are the strongest. The rainbow and pastel palette of this dress is precisely what photoshoot photographers and parents choose for first birthday shoots, where the goal is a vivid, colourful image that reads with joy and warmth. The five-tier skirt also means the dress looks spectacular whether the child is sitting, standing or mid-twirl, which gives the photographer more to work with than a flatter garment would.
It is equally well suited as a gift purchase. Grandparents, aunties and family friends buying for a baby shower, a christening or an upcoming birthday will find a dress at this price point and quality level considerably more impressive to give and receive than the typical high street alternative.
About the Dress Design
The dress is structured in two distinct sections that work together. The upper bodice is a fitted sleeveless panel with wide shoulder straps, constructed from a smooth satin-lined base entirely covered with 3D fabric roses. Each rose is individually crafted from soft fabric and fixed to the bodice in an overlapping arrangement that covers the full front and continues over the shoulders. In the Pink Rainbow colourway the roses are rendered in blended tones of pink, lavender and soft blue. In the Pastel Rainbow Mix colourway they are blue, green and yellow. The roses give the bodice a raised, dimensional quality that no flat print or surface embroidery can replicate.
Below the bodice, the skirt opens into a wide tiered tulle construction with five clearly defined layers, each in a different pastel colour. In the Pink Rainbow version these graduate from soft pink at the top through white, mint, sky blue, lavender and purple at the hem. In the Pastel Rainbow Mix the tiers move from cream through mint, yellow and light blue. Each tier is cut generously full so that the skirt maintains its volume when worn rather than flattening against the child’s legs. The overall silhouette is the classic A-line princess shape.
The back of the dress is where the finishing detail sits. A large satin bow is fixed at the waist, adding a formal structured element to the rear view that makes the dress photograph beautifully from every angle. The zip closure runs neatly up the centre back, hidden cleanly beneath the back bodice panel for a polished, seamless appearance that makes dressing a wriggling baby considerably easier than a tie or button-back alternative.
The skirt lining combines tulle, cotton and satin to give the structure that holds the tier shape while keeping the layers soft against baby skin. The fabric combination is what allows the skirt to hold its full princess shape without requiring a separate underskirt or hoop.

Features
Perfect for Photographs
The rainbow tulle party dress is one of the most photographed styles in the baby and toddler fashion category for a straightforward reason: the combination of dimensional bodice detail, strong pastel colour and a full tiered skirt gives a camera something to work with from every angle and in every lighting condition. Whether you are using a professional photographer or a phone camera, the dress does a significant amount of the visual work on its own.
For cake smash photoshoots in particular, the dress is well suited because the volume of the skirt means the visual interest stays in the garment even when the child is sitting, crawling or leaning forward into the cake. Cake smash photographers frequently recommend layered tulle dresses for this reason: they read as full and formal even in the most informal poses. The rainbow palette also complements the brightly coloured smash cakes and balloon backdrops that are standard in this type of shoot.
For wedding flower girl use, the Pink Rainbow colourway in particular ties naturally into bridal colour schemes that include blush, lavender or mint. The structured back bow gives the dress a formal quality from behind that reads well in the professional photographs that are the primary record of a wedding day.
How to Style It
- Birthday party: Simple white or ivory ballet flats or Mary Janes. A matching velvet bow hairband or a floral crown picks up the rose detail on the bodice. Keep accessories minimal so the dress carries the look.
- Cake smash photoshoot: Bare feet or matching satin shoes. Ask your photographer about backdrop colour before choosing the colourway: Pink Rainbow works particularly well against white, ivory and pastel pink backdrops. Pastel Rainbow Mix photographs beautifully against sage green, cream and outdoor garden settings.
- Wedding flower girl: White or ivory satin sandals with a small bow, a floral crown or a simple hairband with ribbon. A white bolero or shrug layered over the dress makes this suitable for church or cooler weather without losing the visual impact.
- Christening: White or ivory shoes, pearl or crystal hairband. The light layers of the dress make it comfortable for a ceremony that involves sitting and being held throughout. A soft cream cardigan layers cleanly over the wide shoulder straps.
- Summer party or outdoor occasion: Pastel Rainbow Mix with white sandals and a simple daisy clip. The cooler blue and mint tones of this colourway are particularly suited to bright outdoor natural light.

Size Guide
Measure your child at the bust (around the fullest part of the chest), waist (natural waistline) and from the shoulder to the hem for length. All measurements are in centimetres. Please allow up to 3cm variation due to manual measuring. If your child falls between two sizes, select the larger size for room to grow.

Important sizing notes: Clothing measurements are taken lying flat, not on the body. Please measure your child rather than estimating by age, as children’s sizing varies significantly between individuals. Every size chart is specific to this dress. Bust length for a sleeveless dress is measured from the top of the shoulder to the hem. Allow up to 3cm tolerance for manual measurement variation.
Care Instructions
The 3D rose bodice and multi-layer tulle skirt require gentle care to keep the dress looking its best. Read these instructions carefully before the first wash.
- Hand wash only in cool water. Machine washing will cause the 3D roses to lose their shape and the tulle layers to tangle and pull.
- Wash separately. The pastel-dyed tulle may transfer slight colour to other garments on the first few washes.
- Do not wring or twist the dress. Gently press excess water out of the tulle skirt by holding it against the side of the sink. Rough wringing distorts the tier structure.
- Do not bleach. Bleach permanently damages the tulle fabric and fades the pastel colour tiers.
- Hang to dry on a padded hanger, allowing the skirt to hang freely so the tiers dry in shape. Do not peg the dress at the waist as this can leave marks on the satin lining.
- Do not tumble dry. High heat permanently damages both the tulle and the satin lining.
- Store hanging on a padded hanger in a garment bag. Folding or crushing the dress causes the tulle tiers to lose volume that is difficult to restore without steaming.
- If the skirt loses volume after washing, a gentle steam from a handheld steamer held at least 20cm from the tulle will restore fullness. Do not iron the tulle directly.
- If the roses flatten during storage, use steam at a safe distance to gently reshape them. Do not apply direct heat to the roses as the fabric petals may scorch.
