About This Tool
Choosing the right size for a baby can be tricky. Babies grow at different rates and sizing varies between brands, so age labels alone are not always reliable.
- Covers Newborn through to 2 years old
- Uses height, weight and chest measurements
- Toggle between centimetres and inches
- Tap any age to get your measurements instantly
How This Tool Works
1
Measure your baby’s height, weight and chest (see the guide below).
2
Choose your preferred units using the cm / in toggle at the top of the tool.
3
Select your baby’s age group to see the typical size range for that age.
4
Compare those measurements to the full size chart below. If your baby is between sizes, size up.
How to Measure Your Baby
Height
Lay your baby flat on their back. Measure from the top of their head to the bottom of their heel with legs gently straightened.
Weight
Use your most recent health visitor or GP weight check for accuracy. At home, weigh yourself holding your baby, then weigh yourself alone, and subtract.
Chest
Wrap a soft tape measure around the fullest part of your baby’s chest, just under the armpits. Keep it snug but not tight.
Please note: These measurements are intended as a general guide only. Sizing can vary between brands and individual garments. Babies grow at different rates, so your baby’s measurements may not align exactly with their age group. We always recommend comparing your baby’s measurements against the size chart, and if in doubt, size up. For the most accurate fit, check the specific measurements listed on each product page before purchasing.
